I have never done this before so this is a first--my very first blog post!
I created Smackey Art in 2018 after leaving the job I had dedicated the last two decades of my life to as well as choosing to leave the city I had called home for my entire life. I packed the few possessions that I had, which mainly consisted of my paintings, a few sculptures and my art related supplies and moved to a new city. I have been living the "artist's life" for the past year and half now, and driving for a ride share company to help cover my expenses. Due to the pandemic, the last time I was out to work was mid-March, so I have spent the "self quarantine" time veering off into a completely new direction and created some new pieces (check out the octopus) and have revisited some unfinished pieces that were collecting dust (not yet posted).
Going forward, if it is financially possible to do so I would like to concentrate more fully on producing art pieces and online art related content in hopes of developing a more steady stream of income doing something that I love. I hope to connect with people that value what I do and who are willing to show their support. For the time being, if you would like to support my work, please consider purchasing a piece--just contact me. Anything that is not marked as SOLD is available for purchase, but even if you are not able to buy, I hope that you enjoy browsing through my images!
